What have you traded your passions for?

It is a common misconception that if you are good at something, you should do it for the rest of your life. The issue with that is, just because you are good at something doesn't mean you'll enjoy it. An easy example I can give you is that I am a great cashier, but I definitely don't enjoy it. I will not be a cashier for the rest of my life. I do however enjoy writing and various other artsy things that I would love to make a career out of. It is very important to learn the difference. When most people think of a career they think of what will make them the most money. What they fail to realize is that no matter how much money they make or how many nice things they buy, they will still be empty. People that only care about money become bitter as time goes on. This happens because they don't understand why they're so unhappy. They don't understand why nothing is ever enough. Near the end most people will look back on their life with regret because they traded their passions for money or nice things. They've given away themselves only to obtain something temporary. Don't be afraid to dive into your dreams. You will never know what could happen until you try. Don't let something as simple as money hold you back from living your life to the fullest. Everything is perspective; take a step back from yourself for a moment and observe. If nothing else remember this, you don't want to gain the whole world and lose your soul.
