Everyone handles pain differently. I for example, try to remain numb and collected for as long as possible. Eventually I do break but you're not likely to ever see it.  The few that have can tell you that when it rains it pours.  You see in my head somehow it makes sense to try and always be the strong one. I am typically the comforter. I'm the person people always bring their problems to. So I try my best to act like I'm okay. Now unfortunately my acting skills can be effected by alcohol, but I like to think it helps. Be it good or bad, we all have our  ways. Now recently I lost a very important member of my family, our dog Zeus. The little turd had gotten loose once again and we chased him all over for about two hours. I had stopped for a minute to scan the woods in hope that I would see him and hopefully get close to him without him taking off again( it's a lovely game we play🙄). As I was looking around I heard a very loud thud and a yelp from the road. I ran as fast as I could up there, praying that it was only a squirrel or something.  When I got up there the car had already driven off and Zeus was laying on the side of the road; still alive at least. Someone stopped and helped me get him to the house and we took off to the vet. My boyfriend kept an eye on Zeus while I drove, he kept talking to him in hopes that he'd calm down. I heard him say "Princess...", it was the worst sounding thing the way he said it. But I knew what he meant. We drove back home and buried our baby in his favorite spot. You have to constantly remind yourself that it will be okay. You have to accept that being sad won't fix the problem. You have to know that there is time to mourn and then there's time to move on. The lengths of each time depends on you. There is no right or wrong way to deal with pain, unless you hurt yourself in the process. Most importantly, remember that you are strong enough to endure anything.
